About 60km northwest of Trieste, Alissa’s family’s hometown, lies the San Leonardo region – famous for its Northern Italian red wines. The main village boasts only 129 residents, many of whom have lived and been a part of generations based in that region for centuries. The church that is perched in the middle of the village towers above the modest homes and was used for worshipping until the 17th century when it was turned into an olive press.

Our San Leonardo handbag is a modern reflection of a classic handbag. Its envelope design defined stitching and removable crossbody strap and top handle all manufactured in our soft grain leather are bound to be a favourite amongst wanderers everywhere. The sneaky zippered pocket cleverly hidden on the back will undoubtedly become a ‘can’t live without’ feature, making easy access for everything from your passport to your favourite lip gloss. Featuring our BRAND NEW "W" cotton lining.

All our products are made with the best quality full grain leather. This is a natural product meaning each piece is beautifully unique. No piece will be exactly the same as another and some may have natural markings and character that should not be considered a fault.

Our leather is the best quality full grain cow hide and is sourced from Australia and Europe. It is is custom tanned to our specifications using Italian techniques and products.

Our bags are designed by us in Sydney, Australia and shipped from our warehouse and flagship store in Sutherland in the south of Sydney. Read our story

Our leather is tanned and our bags manufactured in a family run factory in Pakistan. They are very proud of their skill with leather which has been passed down through generations!

Notes on colour variants.

  • Our Azzurra full grain leather is a multi-dimensional blue/green colour. The depths and hues of the blue/green colour on your bag will depend on which parts of the hide are used to create the panels that will be used to craft your bag - meaning every bag is unique. Our Azzurra Colour represents the multi-dimensional blue and green shades of the sea, particularly in the Amalfi Coast areas of Capri and Ischia in Italy...forever our muse.
  • Our Grigio Alpino full grain leather is a light grey colour. Grigio Alpino translates to “Alpine Grey”, and the colour reflects this name. It is a very light shade of grey and although it will reflect slight variations in different lighting conditions, the colour will not reflect that of white or cream.

We have endeavoured to provide web images of our leather products that closely match their actual colours but due to the differing colour settings of computer, phone and tablet displays, we cannot guarantee that the colour you see on your screen will exactly match what you receive.

Our bags are crafted with full grain leather (the best quality and strongest type of leather) and in their most natural state it is best to protect the leather using one of the many leather care products on the market. We like leather conditioner as it protects and conditions the leather. We have found creams and leather rubs work much better on our leather, rather than sprays. More about leather care.

You may find that good old fashioned warm water on a damp cloth and a gentle rub will get rid of any marks! And be sure to let it air dry! There are also some great leather cleaning products you can purchase and we have had some success cleaning off marks with an “authentic art eraser”. Pressing the art eraser over and over onto the marks sometimes removes them completely!
